Former Missouri defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson will always have a special place in the newly forged SEC East rivalry between the Tigers and Georgia.
Leading into the first official SEC meeting between the two schools back in 2012, Richardson made headlines for his description of the Bulldogs film that he watched prior to the game.
“I watched that game. I turned it off, too,” Richardson said, according to CBS Sports. “It’s like watching Big Ten football. It’s old-man football.”
Mizzou and Georgia fans alike probably remember how that turned out, as Georgia used its “old-man football” tactics to secure a 42-20 win at Faurot Field.
Fast forward four years, and Richardson is now a member of the New York Jets, and he’s teammates with former Georgia LB Jordan Jenkins. The two made a friendly wager on the outcome of the game, which was won by Georgia, 28-27, in dramatic fashion.
A man of his word, Richardson paid up on the bet on Monday by donning some of Jenkins’ UGA apparel in the Jets locker room and sharing the photo on his Instagram page for the world to see:
Jenkins shared Richardson’s photo on his own Instagram account, with the caption: “This is what happens when you bet against UGA and lose. Man of his word, not too bad for a Tiger#GoDawgsBaby”
