Missouri’s Michael Porter Jr. entered last season as the No. 1 player in his class, but it seems he’ll finish this cycle as the No. 1 injury risk.
Porter missed all but a handful of games during the Tigers’ 2017-18 season because of a back injury sustained in the season opener that required surgery.
There have been many twists and turns along the way, including a major one on Thursday, but now it seems he’s healthy enough to work out for NBA teams in advance of the draft next Thursday.
Porter has informed teams he has been cleared to participate in a pro day for NBA draft lottery teams on Friday in Chicago, according to a report from Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania.

If Porter can prove he’s healthy and in shape, he could go in the top 5 of this NBA draft. However, if he carries medical concerns into the draft or doesn’t look sharp in workouts, he could fall out of the lottery entirely.
In the latest mock draft from The Athletic’s Michael Scotto, Porter goes No. 7 to the Chicago Bulls.
The 2018 NBA Draft will be held on June 21 at 7 p.m. ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
