Missouri’s basketball team has gained a verbal commitment from a possible transfer addition.
On Monday, the Tigers received a commitment from forward K.J. Santos, a transfer from Illinois-Chicago. Santos, who’s 6-foot-8, 200 pounds, made the announcement on Twitter. He averaged 7.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists last season as a freshman with the Flames. He’s a native of Geneva, Ill.
It’s unclear what year Santos’ commitment is for, but the belief is he’ll join Missouri after one season at JUCO.
Later this year, Missouri will enter its first season under coach Cuonzo Martin with the expectation of significant improvement after an 8-24 record last season. The Tigers haven’t reached the NCAA Tournament since 2013.
