Missouri’s 2017 recruiting class has another member.
Tyree Gillespie, a 2-star recruit from Vanguard High School (Ocala, Fla.), committed to Missouri on Saturday, according to Power Mizzou’s Brian Austin. He is listed as a safety but the Tigers are recruiting him as an athlete, and he could play either side of the ball, according to the report.
The 6-foot, 202-pound prospect holds nine reported offers and chose the Tigers over Iowa State, Louisville, Marshall, New Mexico and others. He also garnered interest from Florida State and Georgia, but did not receive an offer.
Gillespie is viewed as the nation’s No. 176 safety, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
He becomes the 21st member of Missouri’s 2017 class, joining fellow athlete Daron Davis (3-star), and 3-star safeties Joshuah Bledsoe and Jordan Ulmer.
