Barry Odom’s defense, ranked last in the SEC a year ago, won’t be getting the services of a JUCO signee who was eventually supposed to help Missouri on that side of the ball.
Malik Young, the No. 6 junior college DT in the Class of 2017, won’t be with the Tigers this season, as reported by Gabe DeArmond of Rivals on Thursday.
Young is a 6-foot-2, 280-pound 3-star prospect out of Eastern Arizona College.
Barry Odom said juco signee Malik Young won't be at #Mizzou. Combo of eligibility clock and SEC rule. Will help him find a new school.

Young chose Missouri over a few other SEC schools, including Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky, according to 247Sports. He was also pursued by in-state schools Arizona and Arizona State.
The Marietta, Ga. native picked the Tigers on National Signing Day just a few days after making an official visit to the Gators on Jan. 25.
