Missouri has received another significant donation for its Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field project.
On Tuesday, the school announced that a confidential donor had made a $1 million donation for the new south end zone facility at the stadium. It marks the eighth seven-figure gift for the project in the past seven months, which represents a fiscal year record for Mizzou athletics.
Both Missouri athletics director Jim Sterk and coach Barry Odom offered statements in a school release.
“We are very grateful for this continued support from our donors,” Sterk said in the release. “I’ve had the opportunity to go around the state and visit with a lot of people who are very excited about getting involved and helping positively impact the future of their football program. This is another example of that, and we’ll continue to work hard to get others involved.”
“I can’t thank our donors enough for the support they’re showing,” Odom said in the release. “We set out to build a facility that will be special, something that makes our program better for years to come, and I’m excited that we are well on the way, thanks in large part to announcements such as today’s.”
Last October, the project was presented to the University of Missouri System curators. The Tigers are coming off a season in which they finished 4-8 overall and 2-6 in the SEC.
