Gary Pinkel will coach his final home game Saturday for the Missouri Tigers, and the school celebrated him with an emotional thank-you video.
The Tigers have won five division titles, including the SEC East twice, during his tenure. The video showcased highlights from Pinkel’s biggest games during his 15-year tenure. It ended with the hashtags #MizzouMade — a rallying cry for a program known for developing lesser-known recruits into NFL-caliber talents — and #ThanksGP.
Pinkel has transformed a program that was an afterthought in major college football for years before his arrival. He also earned plaudits recently for how he stuck behind his players during their boycott to support an on-campus protest against racism.
Faurot Field is also decked out for what figures to be an emotional farewell to the winningest head coach in program history when the Tigers face Tennessee at 7:15 p.m. ET. A win would make Missouri bowl eligible.
