Good news, Missouri students: Your section at Faurot Field won’t change for now.
On Monday night, the Missouri Students Association released a statement that said it was revealed to the organization that student seating on the east side of the Tigers’ home stadium will stay in its current location, “at least for the time being.”
Earlier, there had been talk of Missouri’s student section possibly moving to the end zones after students had enjoyed views at or near the 50-yard-line throughout the years. As you might expect, students were disappointed by the possibility.

Clearly, this is a quality development for Missouri’s students, who wanted to keep their prime views at Tigers home games. Who can blame them? Yes, college football is a big business. But at its heart, the sport is made possible because of the students involved.
Programs should be careful not to move away from those college roots too much as situations become more NFL-like throughout the country.
This is a win for Mizzou’s students young and old.
