Barry Odom just landed a world-class 2017 recruit without lifting a finger.
Missouri wrestler — and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist — J’Den Cox announced that he wants to join the Tigers football team as a fifth-year senior next autumn.
“So, the rule here is you can play a sport for four years, and then your fifth year, you can go and play another one,” Cox told a live audience on Wednesday night. “The new plan is to play football for the University of Missouri after I get done with wrestling here for a year.”

Cox is a two-time NCAA national champion who once played football and wrestled for local Hickman High School. At the moment, he’s healing from meniscus surgery and preparing for his senior wrestling season.
Football isn’t Cox’s only future plan regarding athletics; he also announced Wednesday that he will attempt to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
