Former Missouri Tiger Aldon Smith is checking back into rehab, according to TMZ.
This is the second time Smith has gone to rehab. He checked into rehab back in 2013 following two DUI incidents. Smith recently denied being on reports the he was caught on video smoking what appeared to be a blunt.
After a stellar college career for the Missouri Tigers, Smith was taken with the No. 7 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
But after some initial success, Smith has struggled to stay on the field and out of trouble. After a series of incidents ended his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers, he landed with the Oakland Raiders. But Smith was then suspended in November for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He did re-sign with the Raiders in the offseason, despite the suspension.
In his five seasons in the NFL, Smith has racked up 47.5 sacks. While is talent is undeniable, getting healthy more important than anything Smith could do on the field.
