Missouri will be without two if it’s top players in 2016.
Defensive lineman Harold Brantley has been ruled academically ineligible and fellow lineman Walter Brady is off the team for violating team policy, according to PowerMizzou’s Gabe DeArmond.
Defensive line play was supposed to be a strength of the Tigers in 2016, as Missouri was set to return Brantley, Brady, Charles Harris and former 5-star recruit Terry Beckner, Jr.
Brantley did not play in 2015 after an offseason car crash sidelined him for the season, but he was a disruptive force in 2014, collecting 54 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and five sacks.
Brady led all freshmen nationally in sacks last season with seven. He also added 40 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hurries and one forced fumble.
Between the two, Missouri will be losing a combined 94 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
Beckner is also coming off an ACL injury that ended his freshman season, while also being suspended indefinitely from the team following an arrest and citation for possession of less than 35 grams.
