UPDATE: The Tigers have “moved on” from Terry, according to a tweet from Matter.
One of Missouri’s prized commitments spent National Signing Day in jail instead of faxing his letter of intent to Columbia, Mo.
Marvin Terry, a four-star defensive end from Dallas, is currently in Dallas County Jail after a Jan. 25 arrest, per STLToday.com‘s Dave Matter.
He faces three counts of suspected assault, including “assault causing bodily injury/family violence, family violence assault for impeding breath or circulation and a third charge of continuous family violence assault within 12 months, plus a charge of insufficient bond,” according to Matter.
When Terry committed to Missouri in December, he was the 15th player in the Tigers’ Class of 2016, and coach Barry Odom’s first big catch.
Wednesday’s signing day came and went without Terry, and Missouri finished with the country’s 56th-best class (per 247Sports.com), worst in the SEC and a huge drop from previous years.
