Newly-hired Missouri coach Barry Odom is moving quickly in shaping his staff of assistants.
According to The St. Louis Dispatch’s Dave Matter, offensive coordinator Josh Henson and offensive line coach A.J. Ricker will not be back next season. Matter also reported that defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski likely won’t return in 2016, either.
Odom was promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach last night and rumors immediately surfaced that he would do a clean sweep of the offensive coaching staff. Missouri finished last in the SEC in yards per game (280.9) and in points per game (13.6). The Tigers also dealt with the suspension of quarterback Maty Mauk, forcing them to thrust true freshman Drew Lock into a prominent role on offense.
Odom will have some tough shoes to fill when replacing Gary Pinkel, who won 118 games and six bowl victories during his 15-year tenure at Missouri. Odom clearly wants to make a name for himself with his own staff in place.
