Season-ending injuries are always tough, but it’s an especially difficult experience when something like that happens to one of your senior leaders. Unfortunately for the Mizzou football team, that’s precisely what they’ve gone through with linebacker Michael Scherer, who suffered a season-ending knee injury early in the Tigers loss to Middle Tennessee State last month.
Scherer’s injury, of course, means that he will not be able to take the field with his team for Senior Day next week as Mizzou takes on Arkansas. However, as the captain and leader of the team, he remains in the Tigers’ players thoughts. Today, the official Mizzou Football twitter account tweeted out a cool video of current and former Mizzou players letting Scherer know that they’ll be thinking about him on Friday afternoon:

It’s awesome to see former Tiger stars like Markus Golden, Kentrell Brothers and Evan Boehm, just to name a few, reach back out to Scherer and give him some encouragement. It’s clear that Scherer has made a huge impact on his teammates both past and present.
