Despite it currently being a dead period for recruiting, that hasn’t stopped a few recruits from making headlines.
For 2017 defensive lineman Jayden Peavy, that meant releasing his top six, which contains two SEC schools: Texas A&M and Tennessee.

Peavy is a 3-star recruit from Bellaire, Texas and plays for Bellaire high school. Peavy, listed at a mammoth 6-foot-6 and 279 pounds, currently has 13 offers and is the No. 55 defensive tackle in the country.
Texas A&M has the No. 6 overall class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and 17 commitments. Peavy would be the Aggies first defensive tackle commit, should he go there. The Aggies have been on a hot streak recently, picking the likes of quarterback Kellen Mond and center Creed Humphrey.
Tennessee also has 17 commitments, but the Volunteers have the No. 11 class for 2017.
