2017 NCAA Tournament Arizona vs. Xavier game preview
This could be an intriguing matchup that will decide one half of the West Region final.
Arizona enters the Sweet 16 after routing North Dakota by 18 points and topping St. Mary’s by nine in its first two NCAA Tournament games. The Wildcats hold an impressive 32-4 record, with their most recent loss happening against UCLA on Feb. 25.
Xavier will be no pushover. The Musketeers (23-13) beat Maryland by 11 points and Florida State by 25 to advance to the Sweet 16. Xavier looks like a dangerous No. 11 seed after dispatching those two ACC foes, and Arizona must be on guard to keep from becoming the Musketeers’ latest upset victim.
It will be fascinating to see if Arizona can put a stop to Xavier’s momentum. The Musketeers should be a major threat, but it’s hard to see the Wildcats’ run ending in this round.
