2017 NCAA Tournament Kansas vs. Michigan State game preview
In a true matchup of college basketball blue-bloods, both teams showed Friday that they are ready to do battle.
Kansas (29-4) cruised against No. 16 seed University of California-Davis on Friday, winning 100-62. Senior guard Frank Mason III, one of the nation’s top players, scored 22 points and had eight assists in the win.
Meanwhile, Michigan State (20-14) fell behind to Miami (Fla.) by 12 points early, but ended up cruising to a 78-58 win.
Freshman Nick Ward led the Spartans with 19 points. He is one of three freshman starters while another, point guard Cassius Winston, plays extended minutes off the bench.
An interesting sub-plot will be the play of KU freshman Josh Jackson, a Detroit native who nearly attended Michigan State.
