After all 14 SEC coaches spoke at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala., this week, the conference has released the media’s picks for who will win the SEC East, SEC West and the conference as a whole.
Out of the East Georgia was picked to finish in first with 138 first place votes. In the West, the pick was yet again Alabama, who garnered 225 first place votes. The Crimson Tide were picked again to win the conference. If Nick Saban’s team does that it will be the fourth year in a row that Alabama will have accomplished such feat.

It’s worth noting that the media is not always correct on their picks. Last season Tennessee was picked to win the SEC East, but finished the Volunteers in a three-way tie with Kentucky and Georgia for second place.
Arkansas will be the first SEc team to take the field this year, as the Razorbacks open their season on Aug. 31 against Florida A&M. Most teams, highlighted by Alabama’s matchup against Florida State, begins their season on Sept. 2. Texas A&M starts its season on Sept. 3 at UCLA and Tennessee begins its 2017 campaign against Georgia Tech in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sept. 4.
The SEC Championship game will be held on Dec. 2. The SEC West winner has won the game every year dating back to 2008, when Tim Tebow led Florida to a win over Alabama.
