Michael Divinity, a 4-star linebacker from Marrero, La., committed to LSU on Sunday, he announced through Twitter.
The 6-foot-2, 218-pound product from John Ehret High School has long been considered a strong lean to the Tigers. Last month, Divinity told the AJC’s SEC Country that the program’s proximity to home and 3-4 defensive scheme were favorable to him. He has also developed a strong relationship with running back Leonard Fournette, whom Divinity acknowledged has been a mentor to him on recent recruiting visits.
Divinity spurned Texas A&M, Florida State, Oregon and Ole Miss. He is rated as the No. 5 overall player in Louisiana.
