Jalen Mayden, a 4-star quarterback prospect on the 247sports composite rankings, may soon be taking his talents to the SEC.
The dual-threat QB from Sachse, Texas, listed his top 5 schools on Twitter on Tuesday evening, and a pair of SEC schools made the cut — Mississippi State and Tennessee. Those two teams join Louisville, Nebraska and Baylor as the remaining choices for Mayden.
Mayden also wrote a message along with the list of schools, noting that he feels the programs he listed “are vital to developing my skill set at the next level.”

Mayden, a member of the Class of 2018, made an unofficial visit with the Bulldogs on Saturday. According to 247sports composite rankings, he is the No. 10 dual-threat QB in the class, as well as the No. 27 quarterback in the class from Texas.
Georgia had also made an offer to Mayden, but they did not make the cut.
Mayden is ranked 188th in the ESPN Junior 300 rankings.
