There’s no wrong way to enjoy sports in Atlanta.
Head to a friend’s in-town condo for a barbecue. Post up at a bar and catch a little bit of every game going on. Find your alumni association’s watch party, and act like you’re back in the student section of your college team’s stadium.
Atlanta is flooded with graduates from SEC schools. Fans can’t always make it to Gainesville or Columbia on game day. But, in Atlanta, you can surround yourself with your fellow Gators or Gamecocks at one of the many team-specific bars.
If you’re an Alabama fan, check out Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta. Georgia fans can see the Bulldogs at The Arena Tavern in Duluth. Atlanta’s metro area offers plenty of places to watch your team and meet up with alumni.

Athens is just 90 minutes down the road, so there are plenty of UGA grads to meet in and around Atlanta. There are numerous events throughout the UGA Alumni Association that one could attend. On Saturday, the UGA Alumni Association will host a watch party for the Georgia-Missouri game at Lake Lanier.

Of course, you could always make the quick drive to Athens and enjoy some of the many bars, eateries and music options the city has to offer.
Atlanta has one of the most vibrant social scenes in the country. Spend the night in Buckhead with friends or head to Midtown to explore the city. This city has something for everybody, whether you’re a recent college graduate or someone who is looking to have a relaxing night out. With a city as spread out as Atlanta, there are a bevy options for entertainment.
You don’t have to lock yourself within the confines of the perimeter, either. You could head to Avalon in Alpharetta to check out a ton of restaurants and hang-out options. Travel to the quaint Marietta Square for shopping and scenery. Atlantic Station and Lenox Mall reside inside the perimeter and offer a wide range of shopping and entertainment possibilities.
Between Atlanta and its metro area, there are plenty of social options. Whether it’s shopping, dining out or enjoying a game, the city gives you the chance to meet up with old friends or go out and make new ones.
