Though the main focus of most coaches remains the class of 2018, it’s never too early to start looking ahead to 2019 stars like 4-star Georgia safety Jaylen McCollough.
On Friday, seven programs made McCollough’s cut in his ongoing recruitment, as he released his top schools on Twitter:

Included in that list of seven are five SEC programs: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina. Almost regardless of which school he ultimately selects, McCollough will be playing for one of the biggest names in college football.
A 4-star safety from Powder Springs, Ga., McCollough is the 59th-ranked player in the class of 2019, according to 247Sports. McCollough, 6-1, 190 pounds, would likely be capable of suiting up for an SEC program right away, let alone a year-and-a-half from now, when he’ll be eligible to play.
At the moment, 247’s Crystal Ball has Florida State with the slight early lead over Alabama, though the majority of those predictions came when Jimbo Fisher was still the coach of the Seminoles. Regardless, he’s still about 11 months away from signing, giving one of these schools plenty of time to separate itself and earn McCollough’s signature.
