It’s almost time for a tradition unlike any other.
The Masters will be held from Thursday through Sunday in Augusta, Ga. For golf fans, the tournament has marked the true beginning of spring for so many years at one of the sport’s most venerable venues.
Of course, the field will include players with SEC ties. Thanks to the SEC Network’s Twitter account, we can see a convenient breakdown of the faces with some connection to the league who will compete this week.

As you can see, Georgia dominates the list with four players. Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky and Vanderbilt all follow with one player apiece.
A big headline occurred Wednesday when Dustin Johnson, who began the week as the No. 1-ranked player in the world, injured his lower back when taking a tumble on a staircase. The incident occurred at a home Johnson is renting in Augusta, as reported by ESPN’s Bob Harig and The Associated Press. Johnson’s status for the event is uncertain.
If Johnson can’t play, an opening would be there for other contenders to make a run. The drama at Augusta National will be worth following.
