The Super Bowl sometimes isn’t just about the two teams competing on the field.
Don’t believe it? Look up the money spent on advertising for the commercials that run during the most-viewed sporting event of the year. The Super Bowl is a battle of the brands almost as much as it is a battle on the gridiron.
In the case of Super Bowl 50, the marketing battle was won by Adidas thanks to Super Bowl MVP and Adidas endorsed athlete, Von Miller. The league’s MVP, Cam Newton, is sponsored by Under Armour.
Adidas made sure to brag about Miller—a Texas A&M product—and simultaneously took a shot at Under Armour and its prized endorsement on Twitter.
The only MVP award that matters.

Clearly, the Broncos weren’t the only ones to earn bragging rights following their 24-10 Super Bowl victory over the Panthers.
