Even the great Kirk Herbstreit reserves the right to change his mind.
The ESPN College GameDay personality released his weekly Top 4 rankings following Week 6 games late Saturday night after working the broadcast booth for ABC’s telecast of the Florida State-Miami showdown.
But after sleeping on it, Herbstreit had a change of heart. He took to social media on Sunday morning to amend his choices for the Top 4.
While Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson remained in the top three spots, Herbstreit swapped Washington out of the No. 4 spot and replaced them with Michigan.

Washington dominated Oregon, to the tune of a 70-21 road victory in Eugene. That was enough to push the Huskies into his Top 4 initially, but perhaps he got a closer look at Michigan’s 78-0 road victory against Rutgers. The Wolverines defense allowed just 39 yards.
As a former Ohio State quarterback, perhaps Herbstreit was afraid of the heat he’d take from the Michigan faithful for leaving them out after such a dominating performance.
