Alabama is a 7-point favorite to beat Auburn in the 2018 Iron Bowl, according to South Point sports book director Chris Andrews.
Andrews appeared on VSiN and said he believed 7 points was “a good place to start.”
“A little lower than I really thought it would be when I started looking at these numbers, but I think Auburn is very, very good this year,” Andrews said. “Again, we know what ‘Bama is; we know what they are until someday they won’t be and I don’t know if that’s going to be when Nick Saban retires or what. … I thought seven’s a good place to start and let’s see what the bettors want to do with that.”
The Tide defeated the Tigers three consecutive years before losing 26-14 during the 2017 matchup at Auburn, which was Alabama’s only loss of an eventual national championship season.
The Tide were favored by 3.5 points entering that game.
Alabama leads the series 45-36-1 all-time. The Iron Bowl is set for Nov. 24 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
