If you trust some handicappers, Alabama has already won the SEC.
The Crimson Tide were listed as overwhelming 14:25 favorites to win the SEC by Sportsbook.ag. The second team listed, Florida, was given 9:5 odds to win the conference. LSU followed the Gators with 9:1 odds to win the conference, and Ole Miss was next at 10:1 odds.
To put that into a monetary perspective: You would have to bet $180 to win $100 if you picked Alabama to win the conference, but you would win $180 if you placed $100 on the Gators.
Florida has already punched its ticket to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta after clinching the SEC East with Saturday’s 9-7 victory over Vanderbilt. The SEC West has yet to be won, but Alabama is in the driver’s seat after beating LSU 30-16.
Either LSU or Ole Miss could go to Atlanta if it wins out and the Crimson Tide lose to Mississippi State or Auburn. The Tigers and Rebels play a de facto knockout game in Oxford, Miss., next weekend.
Arkansas and Mississippi State are still listed on the board, but both have extraordinarily slim odds of reaching the title game (300:1).
