Three of the five SEC team that entered Week 10 ranked lost on Saturday, which was plenty enough to shake up the conference’s standing in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
Alabama maintained its top spot in the poll by going to Baton Rouge and shutting out LSU, 10-0, on Saturday night. It was the third loss for LSU on the season, and as a result, the Tigers dropped in the poll from No. 14 to No. 19.
Texas A&M was stunned on the road in Starkville, losing 35-28 to Mississippi State. However, the Aggies only fell four spots from No. 7 to No. 11, in spite of a loss to arguably the SEC West’s bottom team.
Arkansas rebounded from a poor performance against Auburn to beat Florida, 31-10, in Fayetteville. The win was not enough to push the Razorbacks back into the Top 25, but it did cause the Gators to drop seven spots from No. 9 to No. 16.
Auburn didn’t look it’s best, but the Tigers extended their winning streak to six games with a 23-16 victory against Vanderbilt at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers were the only SEC squad to move up in the rankings after Week 10, jumping from No. 12 to No. 8 following the win.
Here’s a look at the new rankings released on Sunday that reflect the outcomes of Week 10 games:
