The entire college football world was shocked when three of the consensus top four teams lost in Week 11. And predictably, that shook things up in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
While Clemson, Michigan and Washington were each suffering through their first loss of the season on Saturday, Alabama was doing what it seemingly always does– dominating its opponent. The Crimson Tide maintained its top spot in the poll with a 51-3 win against Mississippi State, which was coming off an upset win against Texas A&M in Week 10.
Alabama is the only unbeaten Power 5 team remaining, and owns all 63 first places votes in the poll.
Georgia took down Auburn in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, handing the Tigers their third loss of the season in a 13-7 defensive struggle at Sanford Stadium. The loss cost Auburn eight spots in the poll, dropping the Tigers from No. 8 to No. 16.
LSU rebounded from a shutout loss to Alabama by running all over Arkansas, claiming a 38-10 victory in Fayetteville. As a result, the Tigers jumped five spots from No. 19 to No. 14.
Texas A&M was not as fortunate in its attempt to rebound from a Week 10 loss, as the Trevor Knight-less Aggies lost a heartbreaker 29-28 to Ole Miss at Kyle Field on Saturday night. Texas A&M dropped 11 spots after its third consecutive SEC loss, all the way from No. 11 to No. 22.
Florida beat South Carolina 20-7 on Saturday, helping keep the Gators in the driver’s seat of the SEC East race. Though Tennessee kept pace with a 49-36 win against Kentucky. Even though the Gators won, they dropped from No. 16 to No. 18 in the rankings.
Here’s a look at the new Amway Coaches Poll released on Sunday that reflect the outcomes of Week 11 games:
