The wild action in Week 8 of SEC play was enough to shake some things up for the conference in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
Alabama reminded everyone why the Crimson Tide continues to receive votes as the best team in the country with a 33-14 win against Texas A&M, which entered the contest in Tuscaloosa ranked No. 6. The Aggies dropped to No. 10 after suffering their first loss of the season.
Florida held steady at No. 12 in the poll during its bye week.
Auburn and Arkansas proved to be teams moving in the opposite direction, both in the standings and the polls. The Tigers embarrassed the Razorbacks to the tune of a 56-3 beating on Saturday. As a result, the Tigers jumped seven spots from No. 24 to No. 17 in this week’s poll. Arkansas, on the other hand, fell out of the rankings altogether.
Similarly, LSU and Ole Miss crossed paths in Baton Rouge, with the surging Tigers making easy work of the struggling Rebels, 38-21. LSU jumped four spots from No. 23 to No. 19 after the win, and Ole Miss fell out of the rankings.
Tennessee moved up one spot from No. 19 to No. 18 during the Vols bye week.
