The new Associated Press Poll was released Sunday and four SEC teams were represented in the Top 25.
Unsurprisingly, Alabama (No. 2) remained as the conference’s top-ranked team after a 29-13 win over Auburn on Saturday. The Tigers held tight with the Crimson Tide for most of the game, but running back Derrick Henry led Alabama to victory behind 46 carries and 271 yards on the ground.
The Crimson Tide (11-1, 7-1 SEC) will take on Florida (10-2, 7-1) in the SEC Championship next Saturday as the heavy favorite.
Florida, on the other hand, suffered a 27-2 loss at the hands of Florida State over the weekend and fell to No. 18 in this week’s poll.
Ole Miss (9-3, 6-2) was rewarded for its 38-27 win over Mississippi State with a No. 16 ranking. Mississippi State, however, fell out of the AP Poll following the defeat.
LSU capped off an emotional week with a 19-7 win over Texas A&M and re-entered the Top 25 at No. 23. The win was followed by an announcement from athletic director Joe Alleva that Miles would return as the Tigers’ head coach next season.
