The newest edition of the Associated Press Poll was released Sunday, and four SEC teams ranked in the Top 25.
As expected, Alabama (No. 2) continued to lead the way as the conference’s top-ranked team. The Crimson Tide topped Charleston Southern, 56-6 Saturday, and jumped up one spot in the national rankings thanks to Ohio State’s loss to Michigan State. Alabama now trails No. 1 Clemson by 49 points for the top spot.
Florida came in as the SEC’s second-highest ranked team this week following an overtime win over Florida Atlantic. With the lackluster performance, the Gators moved back two spots to No. 10. Florida will close out its season against No. 14 Florida State next weekend.
Ole Miss jumped up in the rankings following the Rebels’ 38-17 win over LSU on Saturday, moving up six spots to No. 19. Meanwhile, LSU dropped out of the Top 25 this week following its third straight loss, and a decision on coach Les Miles’ future with the Tigers could be made soon, according to NOLA.com’s James Smith.
