We’re less than two weeks away from kicking off the 2016 SEC football season and there are still more than a handful of questions to be answered at the quarterback position.
While Jim McElwain ended the preseason camp drama in Gainesville by naming Luke Del Rio his starting quarterback, the battle for playing time continues at Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Auburn.
But Athlon Sports has a deadline to make on its rankings of all 128 FBS starting quarterbacks, so some assumptions had to be made. Steve Lassan made some educated guesses and moved forward with a presumed starter for each of the league’s schools when debuted his rankings on Monday.
The good news? No SEC quarterback ranks in the bottom 40 of the 128 projected FBS starters.
The bad news? Half of them rank 76th or worse.
