Tray Bishop has tweaked his top schools since September, but one constant remains: Auburn is still his leader.
The four-star athlete from Dawson, Ga., told SEC Country on Monday that the Tigers are followed by Ole Miss, Clemson, Georgia and Florida State, in that particular order. The Rebels have climbed past both the Bulldogs and Seminoles, two programs he held in high regard in recent months.
The reason behind Ole Miss and Clemson’s surge? Communication.
Bishop says he hears often from the likes of Ole Miss, Auburn and Clemson, whereas his communication with Georgia and Florida State has declined. He acknowledged the coaching turnover that has taken place in Athens, Ga., but the Seminoles have stopped communicating altogether, according to Bishop, who maintains that his recruitment is still open.
“I really want to weigh out my options and see what other offers I might get,” Bishop told SEC Country. “I’m really just staying open right now.”
Bishop is participating in the annual Chick-Fil-A Foundation Georgia Junior Bowl presented by Rising Seniors this week, where he’s had reps at both safety and receiver.
He is rated as the No. 16 athlete in the country in 2017.
