Ole Miss is the front-runner for one of Georgia’s top cornerbacks.
Tre Shaw, a 4-star from Cedar Grove, told the AJC’s SECCountry.com on Tuesday that the Rebels are his No. 1 school at the moment. They are followed by Florida, UGA, Auburn and UNC.
“The (Ole Miss) coaching staff told me that when I come down there, I’ll probably have a starting position,” Shaw said.
The 6-foot, 180-pounder has already reported 22 offers and he conceded that he’ll change his top five in the coming months after he’s had the chance to take a few unofficial visits. His only trip so far this season was to UGA for its game against South Carolina.
There is also a change in Shaw’s commitment plans. Originally, he was going to announce sometime during this season, but he has chosen to hold off until his senior year. He says community, academics and playing time are the important factors in his decision-making process.
Shaw is rated as the No. 32 player in Georgia in the class of 2017.
