Junior college running back Justin Crawford has become one of the hottest commodities in the SEC in the final days leading up to National Signing Day.
Crawford reportedly picked up offers from Missouri and South Carolina on Tuesday, doubling his total from major programs. Texas A&M and UGA are also in the mix for the Northwest Mississippi Community College product out of Columbus, Ga. He is the No. 4 junior college running back in the nation, and already had offers from Louisville and West Virginia.
“He’s the best kept secret in the country,” an SEC recruiter told Jeremy Crabtree of ESPN.com on Monday. “We’re kind of depressed word is getting out now, because he’s easily a 20-offer type of player.”
Crabtree reported that UGA is expected to visit with Crawford later this week, and he’s tentatively scheduled for an official visit with Texas A&M this coming weekend. Neither Texas A&M nor UGA have offered at this point. Crabtree suggests Crawford could change plans on the official visit if the Aggies do not extend one.
As Crabtree notes, Crawford is not likely to sign by National Signing Day. Crawford is clearly catapulting up recruiting boards across the SEC, though, and is a name to watch in the coming weeks.
