The Big 12 and SEC are planning to come together once again for an interconference basketball duel after last season’s January games proved to be thrilling and a big boost to the conference in preparation for the NCAA Tournament. Certainly, no one complained when Ben Simmons took on Buddy Hield in January.
The official schedule may not be out for a while, but the schedule was leaked to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, who published it Monday.
The highlight of the event? Kansas will travel to Rupp Arena to take on Kentucky. Both schools are expected to be among the best teams in college basketball once again.

Last year, the Wildcats traveled to Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kans., and played in a classic 90-84 overtime game with the Jayhawks prevailing. ESPN’s College GameDay broadcasted from the game. The rematch is sure to turn some heads and pique everyone’s interest.
The other notable matchups include Georgia hosting an up-and-coming Texas team, Florida traveling to Norman, Okla., to take on the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M hosting West Virginia.
The SEC has lost the previous three editions of this interconference rivalry. The SEC took only three of the 10 games in the series last season.
These are certainly some marquee games for SEC basketball fans to look forward to.
