Booger McFarland sent a great thank-you message those who reached out after he accepted a job on ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast team.
On Thursday, ESPN made the move official by announcing that McFarland will be a field-level analyst as part of a broadcast team that will feature Joe Tessitore (play-by-play), Jason Witten (color analyst) and Lisa Salters (sideline reporter). As part of McFarland’s note on Twitter, he wrote, “Really appreciate the messages and as always I’m a pretty easy guy to find and interact with.”

McFarland joins the Monday Night Football broadcast team after a strong run as an SEC Network/ESPN college football analyst. He became well-respected for his SEC-related opinions after building his reputation for smart analysis following his arrival on SEC Network in 2014.
Here’s hoping his mention of “same Boog” means we’ll be gifted some SEC-related takes in the fall. Yes, he’s moving on to a new professional life, but it would be great if he found SEC football too hard to give up.
Here’s guessing McFarland will be a strong addition to Monday Night Football.
