Think you know who will win the SEC championship in 2016?
It’s time to put your money where your prediction is, assuming that’s your cup of tea.
While odds for the College Football Playoff and Heisman Trophy winner for the upcoming 2016 football season have been steadily unveiled as the summer goes along, Bovada decided it was time to get a little more localized with Wednesday’s release of individual conference odds.
Here’s a look at the odds for the SEC East, SEC West and the winner of the SEC Championship:
As was to be expected, the defending SEC and College Football Playoff champions are the heavy favorites. Alabama is at 7/4 to win the SEC and 4/5 to win the SEC West.
Florida, which is the defending SEC East champion, finds itself well behind Tennessee and Georgia in the SEC East odds and with the same odds as Auburn, which finished last in the SEC West in 2015, to win the SEC championship at 18/1.
Bovada has clearly drawn a line in the sand at nine teams as viable candidates to win the SEC championship, with nine teams sporting odds of 20/1 or better. Meanwhile, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are 50/1 or worse.
