Week 8 SEC ticket prices: To attend Alabama-Texas A&M, bring some green

Week 8 in the SEC is very top-heavy in terms of attractive games.

There are three Top 25 matchups, including the biggest game in the country, No. 1 Alabama hosting No. 6 Texas A&M, which is no cheap ticket. On the flip side, we have some duds that will cost you a bag of peanuts to earn admission.

Here’s a breakdown of Week 8 ticket prices for every SEC game, courtesy of Vivid Seats.

(Ticket data as of Thursday morning)

Most expensive

No. 6 Texas A&M at No. 1 Alabama

This might be the de facto conference title game between the top teams in the SEC West. Alabama once again has a dominant defense and arguably the most dynamic quarterback Nick Saban has had in Tuscaloosa with freshman Jalen Hurts.

The Aggies, on the other hand, have a graduate transfer under center that’s taken over the team and run with it in Trevor Knight. The winner of this one likely will be in the College Football Playoff come New Year’s Eve. If you want to see it live, it will cost you at least $151 with average tickets running $319. Worth it?

Most affordable

Tennessee State at Vanderbilt

Just because something is affordable doesn’t mean it’s desirable. That’s what we have here with this contest. The cheapest tickets are a cool $13, while the median price is just $30. Really the only thing to look for Saturday in Nashville is whether or not Vanderbilt returns to being Vanderbilt after last Saturday’s big win over Georgia.

Best value

No. 17 Arkansas at No. 21 Auburn

Sign me up for this game right now. Arkansas’ only two loses have come to Texas A&M and Alabama, while Auburn has won three in a row and looks better each week with Rhett Lashlee calling the offensive plays. And with a perfect 6 p.m. ET kickoff, you have plenty of time to “hydrate” and pig out in the parking lot. To get in the gate at Jordan-Hare Stadium, it will cost you at least $48, while the median price is only $85. Those prices are slightly lower than the third Top 25 conference game of the week between No. 23 Ole Miss and No. 25 LSU.
