Camellia Bowl: Appalachian State vs. Toledo keys to the game
An offensive spark
On paper this matchup looks like it will be extremely close. Appalachian State only allowed opponents 17 points per game (the Mountaineers finished seventh in the nation in scoring defense). Still, App State gave up more yards through the air, which gives Toledo a chance at success. Rockets quarterback Logan Woodside has thrown for 3,882 yards this season with 43 touchdowns. Still, the Mountaineers have their own set of offensive weapons. Quarterback Taylor Lamb (2,162 passing yards, 14 TDs) will combine with running back Jalin Moore (1,367 yards, 10 TDs) in an effort to upstage the Mid-American conference champ.
As previously mentioned, this game is so close the spread is almost even. With offenses and defenses that stack up like they do, it’s going to be critical for the eventual winner to avoid self-imposed errors. While it sounds easy, this can be tricky after nearly three weeks without a game.
