It’s one of the oddest “rivalries” in all of college football. And it appears Central Florida wants nothing to do with it.
In 2015, Connecticut head coach Bob Diaco created a trophy for the matchup between Central Florida and Connecticut and called it the Civil Conflict. The problem was that Central Florida had no idea the rivalry existed.

Connecticut won and claimed the trophy in 2015. But Central Florida won the 2016 matchup. And instead of celebrating with the trophy afterward, the Knights left it on the field.
UConn staffer just picked up the trophy, looked around for advice on what to do with it, and placed in on the UConn bench.

UCF left the "Civil ConFLiCT" trophy sitting on a bench at Rentschler Field, never approached it. UConn staffer took it. Destination unknown

Hopefully UConn mails the trophy to UCF, the rightful winner of the Civil Conflict trophy.
