The SEC is always unpredictable. Its fan bases — not so much.
When it comes to SEC fans, there are no shortage of popular rumblings as well as catch phrases associated with the 14 teams that make up the conference.
Posted over the weekend, “Things SEC fans say” from YouTube user “ScooterMagruder” perfectly encapsulates some of the better lines you have grown to expect to hear on Saturdays.
In the 75-second clip, you knew you would come across a “Roll Tide” or “Gig ‘em” a time or two. But let’s delve a little deeper.
Missouri fans, have you heard this one: “Who won the East last year? Who won the East two years ago?”
Auburn fans, are you still asking, “Who poisons a tree?”
I’m sure some disgruntled South Carolina fans have said “Maybe Steve Spurrier should retire” at least once, or that “Connor Shaw should be starting for the Cleveland Browns.”
Vanderbilt fans may default to, “We’re a great academic institution.”
And while each SEC fan base may have a personal trademark featured in the YouTube clip, it’s almost safe to assume a couple have agreed on this one over the past few years. “If FSU played in the SEC, they’d have a losing record.”
