Troy comes in with the better record at 10-2 and the superior resume, having beaten LSU in Baton Rouge, La., earlier in the season.

The Trojans averaged 30 points per game and on offense were led by quarterback Brandon Silvers. The senior quarterback threw for 2,985 yards and 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The Trojans also gave up just 17.5 points per game, which is 11th in the country.

North Texas meanwhile, led by coach Seth Littrell, finished 20th in the country in scoring offense, averaging 35.9 points per game. North Texas quarterback Mason Fine threw for 3,749 yards and 28 touchdowns while running back Jeffery Wilson ran for 1,215 yards in just 11 games. He did not play in North Texas’ final two games on the season.

Given that North Texas’ strength is offense and Troy’s is defense, this should be an entertaining match-up. But While North Texas boosts the superior offense, it’s defense is by far the weakest unit, giving up an average of 33.8 points per game. And while Troy’s offense isn’t as potent as North Texas’ is far superior. And that’s why the Trojans will end up winning the game.

Final Score: Troy 38-North Texas 28
