The college football season just barely ended, but many fans already are looking forward to next fall’s kickoff. What better way to do so than looking at some very early Week 1 college football odds?
In that spirit, USA Today Sports handicapper Danny Sheridan released a few lines for some of the higher-profile games in Week 1 of the 2017 season, several of which involve SEC teams. He joined Paul Finebaum’s show Tuesday to share them.
Here’s a look, via Finebaum, who’s compiled the lines into one convenient tweet.
.@DannySheridan1's 2017 week 1 odds:
Bama -4 vs FSU
A&M at UCLA -3
LSU -14 vs. BYU
UF vs. Mich -7
Tenn -4 vs. GTech
USC vs. NC St. -7

Of the six SEC teams listed, half of them — Alabama, LSU and Tennessee — are favored in the opening line projection. Texas A&M is a close underdog by just three points, while Florida and South Carolina each are being spotted a touchdown.
Of course, National Signing Day hasn’t even happened yet, and we’re still almost nine months away from Week 1, so things can and will change. But there’s nothing like a bit of way-too-early predictions to keep the conversation burning all winter.
