Social media provides daily proof that none of us ever really grow up. Wednesday morning, it was Jim Harbaugh’s turn to channel his inner teenager.
The Michigan coach appeared to “subtweet” — Twitterspeak for talking behind someone’s back — SEC commissioner Greg Sankey.
“Question of the day,” Harbaugh wrote. “Does anyone find whining to be attractive? Just curious.”
This month, Harbaugh took his travel schedule up a notch by announcing the Wolverines would hold their first week of spring practice (Feb. 27 to March 2) at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Sankey didn’t like the plan, and asked the NCAA to prohibit all teams from practicing during spring break, according to CBSSports.com‘s Dennis Dodd.
“Our primary reaction [is] that, in the face of the time-demand conversations, we’ve got one program taking what has been ‘free time’ away,” Sankey told Dodd. “Let’s draw a line and say, ‘That’s not appropriate.’”
Harbaugh’s tweet was not directly aimed at Sankey, but it doesn’t take a Michigan grad to figure out who he wanted on the receiving end.
