Willie Allen didn’t need to wait until National Signing Day; his mind was already made up.
Allen, a four-star offensive tackle, committed to LSU on Thursday morning over Auburn, Ole Miss and TCU.
Last weekend, the 6-foot-7, 300-pound prospect officially visited LSU. It was the tackle’s third official visit after heading to TCU on Dec. 4 and UGA on Dec. 11. Allen was also believed to be visiting either or both Ole Miss and Auburn later on this month.
Allen is the second offensive tackle and third offensive lineman in LSU’s 2016 recruiting class. The nation’s No. 15 prospect at the position, Allen fills an instant need for the Tigers, who are set to lose both of their starting tackles from a year ago.
Allen is rated as Louisiana’s No. 9 prospect.
