There will be no commitment in April from William Poole III.
The four-star cornerback from Hapeville Charter in Atlanta planned to announce his commitment next month after his high school’s spring break.
He’s now delaying his decision following a visit to Florida over the weekend.
“I have a lot more things to sort out & think about, don’t want to move to fast. I need to make sure I’m making the best decision for me,” Poole wrote on his Twitter account.
“I’m not making any commitment that I will later regret. I know I’ve stated for one to soon be coming, but I need to re-evaluate everything.”
Poole has a top two of Florida and Georgia, but hadn’t visited UF until Friday. The 6-foot, 182-pounder has long been considered a lean to the Bulldogs.
His father told SEC Country last month he and his wife were biased toward UGA, though they would support their son if he chose the Gators.
Poole’s trip to Gainesville appears to have caused a shakeup in his recruitment.
“It was great,” Poole told 247Sports’ Rusty Mansell. “It was nice. I’ve been trying to get up there for a long time, and to finally get up there, they showed me everything. It was amazing, I fell in love with the place.”
Poole is ranked the No. 12 cornerback and 100th overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
