Several powerhouse programs are among William Poole’s favorites.
The four-star cornerback from Atlanta, Ga., is down to Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State and Georgia, he confirmed to SEC Country on Thursday.
Poole, the No. 11 cornerback in 2017, is considered one of the top recruits at his position in next year’s recruiting cycle. He’s already reported 39 offers.
Per 247Sports.com’s Crystal Ball predictions, Georgia is the frontrunner to land his signature. Poole was vocal in his support for the Bulldogs upon hiring long-time Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart to succeed Mark Richt.
“The hiring of coach (Kirby) Smart is the news I’ve been waiting for,” Poole told SEC Country. “The guy is a defensive mastermind and he’s been under the best coach in the nation (Nick Saban). I’m sure he’ll know how to run it and get things done. The future is bright for UGA. I see national championships coming.”
Poole tells SEC Country the aforementioned programs are his official final schools and he will narrow down his list over the course of the next year.
