In just over a week, 4-star wide receiver Tarik Black will be logging some major miles in order to venture through SEC territory.
Black, a star at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, tweeted Thursday night that he’ll be paying visits to Alabama, Auburn and Georgia next weekend.
The Crimson Tide was the only program to crack the 6-foot-4, 208-pound prospect’s top five, which he released several weeks ago. Black had previously told SEC Country’s Chris Kirschner that he’d be making the trek to Tuscaloosa, Ala., sometime in July.
However, it’s also worth noting that none of these three SEC schools are listed in Black’s 247 Crystal Ball expert predictions. His recruitment is considered fairly wide open right now. The young wideout had previously named the UCLA Bruins his leader before telling Kirschner that he feels all five schools are on equal footing.
So whether Black is giving these schools a hard, deep look or simply taking a fun summer trip through the Southeast remains to be seen. But what is certain: All three of these SEC schools would likely welcome a talent such as Black, the nation’s No. 16-ranked wide receiver, in with open arms.
